Could the ‘elephant e-map’ help reduce conflict in India?

December 13th 2016:

Over the past 10 years Jharkhand has lost at least 12 elephants and over 1,000 people due to human-elephant conflict and economic losses due to damage of crops are immense.

But with a new tracking system, forest staff on the ground will know where and how to divert elephants by studying their behaviour and daily movements.
