Petition calling for an end to the UK ivory trade hits 100,000 signatures and Parliament will now consider this for debate next month. The Conservatives pledged to shut down the UK’s domestic ivory market in their manifesto for the past two elections. Thousands of African Elephants are slaughtered a year for their tusks yet, the government has still not outlawed the trade.
