Students forced to flee school to avoid elephant conflict

February 24th 2017:

Parents have withdrawn hundreds of pupils from a school in Sagalla, Kenya due to increased human-wildlife conflict. “We share water points with the elephants. Our food crops have been destroyed and we are now left to live in abject poverty.”

As elephants are being forced into smaller and smaller areas, incidents such as these are becoming commonplace across much of Kenya.
